Photo Editing Sites

Photofunia.com offers instant effects applied to any photo you upload. It was very easy to use, and the uploader was very fast. There was pretty much no work involved, but the product was very cool. Photoshop in comparison requires much more work to customize the editing of your picture. This site might target an audience who doesn't really know a lot about editing, but loves the effects. I think a link on the webpage would be good because using this site was a good experience.
Citrify.com offers very easy editing that produces great results. What's not cool is that it doesn't have that many effects/filters. However, the ones that it does have are very cool and easy to adjust. It doesn't have tool pallets like Photoshop does, but I don't mind that too much. This site probably targets people who aren't very good with technology or editing. A link on the webpage would be nice because I would like to use it at home, but I might not remember the name of the site.

My Kid Could Do That

For this assignment, we tried to create a piece resembling the work of Marla from the movie "My Kid Could Do That." Marla was my inspiration. I tried to use different brush tools to create a sense of glowing lights in the background of the lake the swan in swimming on. I am happy with this piece. Next time, I would like to use a photograph to create the glowing lights effect.

Visual Puns

For this assignment, we tried to create our own visual puns. My first one is "hammertime," followed by "tap dance." The last two are not really just simple compound phrases or words. The third picture is supposed to be a criminal saying that he hates his jail sentence, but by saying "I hate this sentence," it has a double meaning with the grammatical sense of the word "sentence." The last picture is an alien who would normally say, "Take me to your leader," but instead he says "liter" because he is at a Coca-Cola bottling plant. I am satisfied with this work, especially the hammertime picture. I used techniques such as threshold, posterize, gradient map, and overlay in this assignment. Next time I would choose more simple puns for the last two. My inspirations came from various songs that use the word "hammertime," as well as from my grandfather, who is really good a making puns.
